Welcome to your guide for attending the upcoming ADHS conference in Buffalo! On this page, you will find detailed information on travel between the conference venue and your hotel, restaurant and bar suggestions, and some exciting things to do in Buffalo during your stay. To make make planning your visit more convenient, there are a few map highlighting key locations.

Traveling to the Hyatt
From Airport:
If you are arriving to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, the best option for traveling to the Hyatt is to use Uber/Lyft. 
  • Depending on the time of day, it will take 15-20 minutes to travel from the airport to downtown Buffalo. Typically, rates range from $25-$35. 
  • If you have arranged for a pickup with a rideshare company you can the exit terminal doors closest to carousel 1 in the baggage claim area and follow signs to the designated pick up spots in the hotel shuttle bus lane.

Driving: 
If you are driving to the Hyatt, please note that you can park at the Owen B. Augspurger Ramp, located across from the hotel, or the open lot located directly across the street. Upon check in, front desk staff can direct you to the best lot to park in at that time. 
  • Overnight parking, with in and out privileges is $25/day

Traveling between the Hyatt and the ADHS conference
The conference will be held at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (JSMBS) on the grounds of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. A map of the campus can be found below. To travel between the Hyatt Regency and  JSMBS, you can walk, use public transit, or take Uber/Lyft.

PLEASE NOTE: All conference attendees must enter JSMBS through the entrance on the corner of Main St. and High St. If you are taking the metro rail to JSMBS, you will need to exit the station and walk one block to the High St. entrance.​​

Public Transit
  • NFTA Metro Rail runs between Buffalo downtown near the Hyatt to JSMBS.​ You can purchase tickets at all NFTA Metro Rail Stations. More info on NFTA-Metro can be found here.
    • Single trip - $2
    • Round trip- $4
    • Unlimited day pass- $5
  • To JSMBS
    • Take the NFTA Metro Rail from Fountain Plaza Station (Outbound to University Station) to Allen/Medical Campus Station. Allen/Medical Campus Station is the first stop after boarding at Fountain Plaza.
    • On weekdays and weekends, the NFTA Metro Rail leaves Fountain Plaza (Outbound) every 20 minutes beginning at 6:09am.
  • To Hyatt Regency
    • Take ​NFTA Metro Rail from Allen/Medical Campus (Inbound to Canalside) to Fountain Plaza Station. Fountain Plaza Station is the first stop after boarding at Allen/Medical Campus.
    • On weekdays and weekends, the NFTA Metro Rail leaves Allen/Medical Campus (Inbound) every 12-15 minutes beginning at 5:46am.

Rideshare with Lyft or Uber
  • 5-8 minute ride, $8-$12 each way
    • Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences is located at 955 Main St, Buffalo​
    • Hyatt Regency is located at 2 Fountain Plz, Buffalo

Walking Directions
  • The walk between JSMBS and the Hyatt takes about 20 minutes and is a straight path heading north on Main St. A filter that shows walking directions can be accessed on the map below (also linked here).

duende @ Silo City

Silo City in Buffalo, New York, is a complex of historic grain elevators and silos located along the Buffalo River. The area has undergone a transformation in recent years, with efforts to preserve and repurpose these industrial buildings for new uses. Today, Silo City serves as a cultural and artistic hub, hosting a variety of events including like art installations, tours, performances, and community events.

On Friday, June 28, the ADHS conference will host an awards ceremony at duende in Silo City. Drinks and dinner provided. 

Buses to duende will depart from JSMBS after the end of panels on Friday. Busing from duende to the Hyatt is also provided.
