The Ancient Order of Froth Blowers was a brief-lived, tongue-in-cheek society that praised English beer and raised funds for charities, often medical. It seems to have come into existence in the mid-1920s and formally ended in 1931. It had a female auxiliary, the Angelic Order of Fairy Belles. There is a surprisingly full history that includes some pictures of documents, “A Brief History of the A.O.F.B.,” available online at frothblowers.co.uk. See also “The Ancient Order of Froth Blowers,” Alliance News, March 1927, p. 38.
