Dying bear: alcohol, tobacco and Russian male life expectancy

Nicholas Eberstadt: Russia a “demographic disaster,” especially for men whose life expectancy is about 64 years. Because of alcohol consumption and smoking, a 15-year-old Russian boy has a life expectancy lower than his counterpart in Haiti by three years.
