Decline in America’s Irish pubs

Noah Rothbaum explains that the decline in America’s Irish pubs (overlapping with the decline in the neighborhood tavern) has multiple causes: higher commercial rents, popularity of new cocktails and craft-beers and craft-whiskies not available at the older watering holes, and even the growing popularity of Irish whiskies now available at fancy cocktail lounges.
